Capcom developed and published the Devil May Cry video game series. During an IGN interview, it was revealed that the series started life off in the first place as Resident Evil 4. However, as the lead artist continued to design enemy characters and other aspects of the game. There was clearly a departure of the prototype from what Resident Evil is known for. Above all, the series drew influence from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, to deliver a more action packed game.
The series follows demon hunter Dante in his goal of avenging his mother’s murder by wiping out demons. However, the game release order does not follow the sequential order of the series.
